On Wednesday, September 24 Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a 40-minute meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry within the framework of the UN General Assembly session in New York to discuss the Ukrainian ceasefire agreement, the fight against IS and respective approaches to Iraq and Syria.

On Thursday, September 25 Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a news conference where he outlined his six-year program of reforms for Ukraine. Poroshenko then said he had “no doubts” that the most dangerous period of the civil conflict in the country is over and that peace will be restored soon.

This week the first International Eagle Falconry Festival took place in the Kosh-Agachsky mountain district of Altai. Mongolia’s 22 best eagle falconers showed their skills in this kind of falconry, which is uncommon in Russia.
