The Dublin Zoo, founded in 1830 (and opened to the public a year later), is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city. The first version of the famous emblem of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture studio, from 1916-1928, depicted a lion named Leo, who lived in the Dublin Zoo.
