"Russia is interested in cooperation and partnership with Europe and the United States. The West should not be afraid of another threat coming from Russia," Mr. Gorbachev announced. He underlined that Russia can be criticized, but at the same time "deserves responsible attitude on the part of other countries." In addition, Mr. Gorbachev pointed out at the complexity of the reform process in Russia.

The international conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of perestroika was held in Turin by the initiative of the World Politics Forum presided by Mikhail Gorbachev.
