    CAIRO, March 6 (RIA Novosti, Igor Kuznetsov) - An All-Arab Symposium on Human Rights opens in Cairo on Sunday.

    A three-day forum is organized by Egypt's National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) in collaboration with the Arab League, the UN Development Program and the UN High Commission on Human Rights.

    According to NCHR secretariat officials, representatives of human rights organisations of all Arab countries, legal experts, public activists, parliamentarians, politicians and foreign experts will participate in the work of the symposium.

    Chairman of the Egypt's National Council Butros Gali, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Arab League Secretary General Amre Moussa will speak at the symposium.

    The goal of the forum is to provide recommendations helping to develop local human rights legislation in all Arab countries in accordance with international norms, and to increase the role of public organizations in protection of human rights in Arab countries.
