As adviser to the MChS head for relations with mass media Viktor Beltsov told RIA Novosti, the aircraft are to fly from the Ramenskoye airport near Moscow on Tuesday morning.
"The first airplane will carry 6,000 blankets, and the second - medicinal and disinfecting means, as well as medical equipment for Iraq's hospitals," Mr. Beltsov said.
He added that the relief aid will be handed over to the representatives of Iraq's Health Ministry at the Baghdad airport.
Mr. Beltsov recalled that on December 25 two Il-76 aircraft of Russia's MChS had already delivered tents accommodating many people, heating devices and books in Russian to Iraq.
Humanitarian aid is rendered to Iraq's population in keeping with the Russian government's resolution. The total value of the cargoes which will be handed over to the Iraqi side is about $1 million, and their total weight is over 160 tons.
