In his turn, the Italian minister confirmed that the summit will take place in Moscow.
"Within the framework of today's talks, we coordinated a tight schedule of contacts between our sides, which will reach its culminating point in November by holding the expanded summit presided over by Vladimir Putin and Silvio Berlusconi in Moscow", said Mr. Fattini.
Touching upon the talks, the ministers said that they had discussed actual bilateral relations and international topics. Certain understanding was reached, particularly, in the spheres of high technologies and aviation.
Raised among the international topics was the situation in the Balkans, the Caucasus, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Italian foreign minister stressed that Rome actively supported Vladimir Putin's proposal on convening an international conference on Iraq. Italy will do its best to ensure that the conference is held as soon as possible, emphasized Mr. Frattini.
"The Russian-Italian relations have never been as friendly and deep as they are now", said the Italian foreign minister.
