MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - Last year's trade turnover between Russia and the European Union amounted to 92 billion euros. This figure includes trade with the ten accession countries (Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Malta, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia).

The European Commission's press service released EU-Russia trade statistics Friday, as the sides reached a final deal at their talks on Russia's prospective membership in the World Trade Organization.

The European Union is Russia's largest trade partner while Russia comes fifth on the EU trade partner list, after the United States, Switzerland, China and Japan, the EC says in the press release.

At present, Russia provides over 20 percent of the energy imports into the European Union.

The UN, for its part, is Russia's principal source of technologies and investment. It provides the largest amount of direct foreign investment in the Russian economy, with 2.2 billion euros invested in 2002 overall.
