MOSCOW, May 13 (RIA Novosti) - The fire risk in Russia in 2004 is much lower than in 2002 and 2003. This forecast is included in the emergencies ministry's report forwarded to RIA Novosti on Thursday.

Experts have analysed the parameters of fire risks and discovered that major parameters of fire risks in 2004 are 15-20% higher than the average annual figure but far lower than in 2002 and 2003, the document specifies.

According to the Russian emergencies ministry's report, the fire situation in Russia will depend on the situation in the Far Eastern and Siberian federal districts this year. "On the whole, the fire area in these districts will make over 80% of the total fire area of the country," reported the ministry.
