BAKU, May 1 (RIA Novosti) - The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Russia is to open a military attache's office shortly, Azeri Defense Minister Safar Abiyev announced at a meeting with Russian Ambassador Nikolai Ryabov and Rear Admiral Vladimir Lomakin, Russia's new military attache in Baku.
Messrs. Abiyev, Ryabov and Lomakin shared opinions on the prospects of cooperation between the defense departments of Russia and Azerbaijan and also on the military situation in the southern Caucasus, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry reported in a press release.
"The defense ministries of our two countries have good relations, with the activity of the Russian military attache's office in Azerbaijan being yet another testament to this fact," Minister Abiyev was reported as saying.
