MOSCOW, April 23 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow will provide aid to North Korea, which is dealing with the aftermath of the railroad crash, if the country makes a relevant request, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters.

"Russia is ready to provide relevant aid if North Korea requests so," said Mr. Lavrov.

"As soon as the media reported on a major railroad accident in North Korea, Russia undertook to find out what really happened. The Russian embassy in Pyongyang spoke to the North Korean foreign ministry, which confirmed the accident and said investigation was under way," said Mr. Lavrov.
