"Horrible and terrifying crimes, astonishing illegal acts which are common in Iraq at the moment are consequences of political and economic aim the USA authorities are pursuing," Ayatollah Ali Khomenei said on Wednesday.
According to him, "the current situation in Iraq is an adequate response of Iraqis to humiliating and insulting deeds against the population and to foreign occupation." "Americans are accusing other states of interference with Iraq's home affairs, however, it is quite obvious now that criminal and humiliating deeds of the occupants against Iraqi women and children met such a brave response among Shiah and Sunni youngsters," Ayatollah Ali Khomenei added.
According to him, resistance of the Iraqi population will make the coalition forces withdraw from Iraq sooner. "Due to their adherence to Islam, unity, preservation of the Islamic spirit and common sense Iraqis will hasten the defeat of the USA and Great Britain and promote forming a free and independent Iraq under the banner of Islam," Ayatollah Ali Khomenei said.
