TBILISI, April 14 (RIA Novosti) - Representatives of the Russian and Georgian foreign ministries are discussing the preparation of the framework agreement on friendship and co-operation, and on the pullout of Russian bases from Georgian territory.

Chief Russian delegate from the Russian foreign ministry, Ambassador at Large Lev Mironov has already met Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili, the Novosti-Georgia agency reports.

"I am hoping for a positive result of the negotiations. Yesterday, we discussed the implementation of Sochi agreements between the two countries' presidents with the Georgian foreign ministry. The preparation of the framework agreement is to be further discussed," Mr. Mironov told reporters before the meeting with the Georgian foreign minister began.

In early March 2003, the Russian and Georgian presidents agreed to restore railway communication via Abkhazia (a self-proclaimed republic in Georgia), to repair the Ingur hydropower station and to return Georgian refugees to the Gal district of Abkhazia.
