MOSCOW, 14 April (RIA Novosti)-Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov has voiced his support for a flexible approach to be adopted with regard to taxing the raw materials sector of the economy.

While speaking at the Federation Council today, the premier said that he was in favor of a differentiated approach to taxing the sector. However, he said that he was not prepared to give the issue a clear formulation, since it was such a complicated and responsible matter.

When responding to parliamentarians concerns about taxation being the same in Russia for highly productive and less productive oil fields, Mr. Fradkov said, "We should not, when solving this problem, rob the oil men, but we should find a solution to this problem."
