MOSCOW, April 14 (RIA Novosti) - At a plenary sitting on Wednesday, the Federation Council approved by majority vote the making of amendments in a set of laws paving the ground for putting the Russian military service on the contract service.

Chairing the defence and security committee of the upper parliamentary chamber, Victor Ozerov said that the federal law, adopted by the Federation Council, will resolve the legislative problems of the army reform.

"The law-proposed measures are meant, above all, to ensure attraction of the military service, increase the combat readiness of troops and depend on the real financial capability of the state", Ozerov said.
