EMERGENCIES MINISTRY PLANS EVACUATION OF RUSSIANS AND CIS CITIZENS FROM IRAQ - UPDATE

MOSCOW, April 14 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Emergencies Ministry plans to evacuate Russian citizens and citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States from Iraq within the next few days, the ministry told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

According to Viktor Beltsev, the deputy chief of the ministry's information department, the first flight is scheduled for Thursday. There will be seven special flights to Baghdad and Al Kuwait.

He also said that the ministry's planes would evacuate 816 people, including 553 Russians and 263 CIS citizens who worked in Iraq on Russian contracts.
