    MOSCOW, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - the Russian Foreign Ministry's official spokesman Alexander Yakovenko has confirmed the fact that eight employees of Russia's Interenergoservis were abducted in Iraq.

    "We can confirm that eight employees of the Interenergoservis have been abducted," he said.

    According to American and Arab mass media, Moscow-based Interenergoservis has signed contracts with the energy ministry of the new Iraqi administration on restoration of thermal power plants in Baghdad and other cities. Different foreign sources maintain that the number of Russian specialists kidnapped in Baghdad is 11.
