"We are very seriously concerned about the situation in Kosovo and want this sort of relapses and ethnic cleansings not to be repeated. It is necessary to take measures which will stabilise the situation. This is the issue that is constantly in the focus of our efforts," Alexander Yakovenko, an official Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, told a news conference in RIA Novosti on Thursday.
According to him, settlement in Kosovo was discussed at the Russia-NATO Council, in the course of Contact Group meetings, at the level of consultations in the UN Security Council, and during the visits of the French and German presidents to Moscow.
"Today this issue is being discussed in the course of the visit to Russia of the NATO Secretary-General," said Yakovenko.
