ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 7, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - At a meeting with Vladimir Yakovlev, the Russian president's envoy in the Southern Federal District, Murat Zyazikov, the president of Ingushetia, said that he would not allow Ingushetia to turn into a war zone.

"Let those who want to expand the war zone go to the countries that are doing this," Mr. Zyazikov said.

The people who do not like the creative processes occurring in the republic support this incident, Mr. Zyazikov stressed when he commented on the Tuesday morning assassination attempt.

"They are waiting for the situation in the republic to develop differently, when new jobs are not being created and production is not restored," he said.

On Tuesday morning, a car filled with explosives blew up near the president's motorcade. Six people were wounded. Mr. Zyazikov was only slightly wounded.
