WASHINGTON, April 7 - RIA Novosti. The US Department of State highly assesses the meeting of Russia's Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov and US Secretary of State Colin Powell, deputy spokesman for the US Department of State Adam Ereli said in Washington.
A very good and very friendly exchange of opinion on a wide range of questions was held in the course of the Tuesday meeting, Ereli said.
According to him, Ivanov and Powell discussed the questions of NATO, regional security, the war against terrorism, the Middle East, Iraq, and Kosovo.
Ereli recalled that the previous meeting between the Russian Minister and the US Secretary of State took place during Powell's visit to Moscow in January 2004.
