CIS FOREIGN POLICY AND POWER STRUCTURES HEADS TO GATHER IN KIEV

MOSCOW, APRIL 5. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- A joint session of the Foreign Ministerial Council, Prosecutor Generals' Coordinating Council, Interior Ministerial Council, Council of Heads of the Security Organs and Secret Services, Border Troops Commanders' Council, Coordinating Council of Heads of the Tax (Financial) Investigation Organs, CIS Customs Services' Council will be held in Kiev on April 8.

The course of realisation of the 2003-2004 interstate programme of joint measures against crime is on the agenda, the CIS executive committee said.

In addition, they will look into the further development of cooperation between the CIS law-enforcement agencies in the struggle against the money laundering, projects of cooperation in countering illegal migration and terrorism, other manifestations of extremism.

Conferees will consider the enhancement of coordination between the Commonwealth competent organs and institutions in preventing the illegal movement, taking of children from abroad, kidnapping and human trade.

It is also planned to discuss the fulfilment of interstate procedures for coming into force of the documents, adopted by the CIS Heads of State Council and Heads of Government Council, on cooperation in the struggle against crime, terrorism and drug traffic.

Before the session, on April 7, the fourth international scientific-practical conference will be held - The Improvement of Cooperation between CIS Member-states in the Struggle against Ogranized Crime, Terrorism, Drug Traffic and Other Contemporary Challenges and Threats.
