    IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER TO PARTICIPATE IN MEETING OF CASPIAN STATES' FOREIGN MINISTERS IN MOSCOW

    TEHRAN, April 5, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - On Monday, Kamal Kharazi, Iran's foreign minister, will travel to Russia to take part in a meeting of the Caspian states' foreign ministers in Moscow on Tuesday, April 6, the official spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Hamid-Reza Assefi, said.

    "At the coming session at the level of foreign ministers in the Russian capital, the foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will discuss the trends of further coordination of points of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea," the Iranian diplomat said.

    According to him, "the sides will also discuss the possibility of holding of a summit of the presidents of the five coastal states this year in Tehran."

    "At the session in Moscow we will support the right of all coastal countries to use all the Caspian Sea's resources as well as cooperation in different spheres," he said.
