RUSSIA, YEMEN SHARE COMMON POSITIONS ON COUNTER-TERRORISM

MOSCOW, April 2, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Russia and Yemen share common positions on counter-terrorism and situations in Iraq and the Middle East.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov and Yemen's ambassador to Russia Abdul-Wahap al-Ruhani came to this conclusion in Moscow on Friday, said the press and information department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

They discussed vital international and regional issues.

The meeting was held on Yemen's initiative.

Yemen's President Ali Abdallah Salih will arrive in Russia on a routine visit on April 6 at an invitation of President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service said.
