MOSCOW, April 2 (RIA Novosti) - On Friday the Russian Olympic Committee will begin selecting torch bearers to participate in the Olympic torch relay.

The 2004 Olympic flame will come to Moscow on July 3. The torch will be carried through the city, however the exact route has not been made public for security reasons. One hundred and twenty people will carry the torch in Moscow.

The committee will select people who applied to participate in the Olympic flame relay. One of prerequisites of being a torchbearer is that they must have a world outlook that is in agreement with the principles of the Olympics, committee officials said.

Passing the Olympic torch to each other, the torchbearers will be translating the motto "We Unite Continents by Passing the Flame!" into reality.

The Olympic torch relay started at the Olympia archaeological site in Greece on March 25. It is the first time that the Olympic flame will be carried across all the five continents. The torch will visit 33 cities where the Olympic Games have been held.
