YEMEN PRESIDENT TO VISIT RUSSIA EARLY NEXT WEEK

ABU DHABI, April 1, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh will pay official visit to Russia early next week, Yemeni information agency SABA reported.

It's expected that Mr. Saleh in the course of his visit will discuss with Russian authorities issues concerning bilateral relations and ways of cooperation development in political and trade-economic spheres. Issues concerning the Middle East settlement and fight against international terrorism will be discussed as well.

Russia and Yemen established diplomatic relations in 1928. The most colorful examples of Russo-Yemeni longstanding relations is Moscow's assistance in construction of Hodeida sea port, construction of highways, a number of industrial facilities as well as of hospitals and schools in various Yemeni cities.
