"Within the next two or three weeks the government office will undergo transformations similar to those of the ministries in order to become more responsible, dynamic and effective," Kozak stressed.
He noted at that the changes in the apparatus' functions would be neither revolutionary nor radical.
The inter-departmental commission in charge of forming the system and structure of the federal bodies of executive power and the government commission on administrative reform will be merged into a single commission to be headed by Kozak himself.
Kozak also said that the government at its next session would take a decision with regard to the still functioning 220 deliberative and coordinating bodies in the government. "Given the current configuration of the federal bodies of executive power their number should be considerably slashed. The number of government commissions should not top ten," Kozak said.
Apart from that, the number directorates and departments which are the key links in the scheme of reforming the ministries and other offices will be reduced by several times. "If this scheme proves to be viable, the similar measures on reducing the staff will be taken on the regional and local levels," the head of the government office said.
"The main aim of the administrative reform in the bodies of the executive power is to have effective, dynamic, and responsible management after removing unnecessary links in the persons of numerous deputy administrators, department heads, etc.," Kozak stressed.
