GENEVA, April 1 - RIA Novosti, Yekaterina Andrianova. A meeting of the working group for Russia's entry into the World Trade Organisation (WTO) will be held in Geneva on April 1-2, 2004. The Russian delegation at it is headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maksim Medvedkov.

The meeting at which ten sections of the working group's final report will be discussed is scheduled for Friday. The report includes such questions which are delicate for Russia as technical barriers in trade, veterinary-sanitary control, measures to protect the Russian market, customs unions in the free trade zones, special economic zones, and different aspects of trade and customs legislations.

Informal meetings of the Russian delegation with the members of the group will be held on Thursday. Multilateral talks on agriculture and tariff quotas will also take place.

The regular series of the talks on Russia's entry into the WTO will also end in Geneva on Friday. By that time the Russian delegation is expected to have held about 20 rounds of the talks on access to the goods market and 15 rounds of the talks on access to the services market.

"It is an ordinary round. We proceed from the idea that after it the process of work on the second edition of the draft report of the working group will move towards the final stage, and that the second reading of the draft will be completed at the next meeting which is likely to be held before the summer vacation," Russia's chief negotiator with the WTO Medvedkov earlier told the agency.
