MOSCOW, March 19 ( RIA Novosti ) - The Russian Ministry of Finance has no intention to change the income tax rate - it will remain at the 13% level, Minister Aleksei Kudrin said, answering to a question by the President of Russia at a joint board session of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on Friday.

Kudrin added that, in his opinion, this rate should be "kept forever." German Gref, Russia's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, agreeing with the need to keep the rate at the 13% level, objected against the "forever" formula.

Putin, in turn, remarked at the board session, that he had been forced to restrain the sharp discussion between the Finance and Economic Development Ministries, "preventing it from splashing over the rim."
