VLADIKAVKAZ, March 19, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Vladimir Gutnov) - On Monday, March 22nd, speaker of the North Ossetian parliament Taimuraz Mamsurov will leave for Switzerland to meet Vitaly Kaloyev, who is accused of having murdered an air traffic controller of Switzerland's Skyguide.

In an interview with RIA Novosti Mamsurov said that he would be accompanied by Kaloyev's elder brother Yuri. Apart from clarifying procedural issues with Kaloyev's Swiss lawyer, the speaker intends to meet the arrestee personally.

Vitaly Kaloyev has partially acknowledged his guilt.

The air traffic controller, who had been on duty on the night of the Russian Tu-154 crash above the Boden Lake, was stabbed to death in his house in Kloten on February 24th.

In that crash Kaloyev lost all his family, his wife, daughter and son. The day after the murder he was arrested at a hotel in Kloten and later taken to a psychiatric hospital because of the high suicidal risk.

In July 2002 a Tu-154 of Bashkir airlines and a cargo Boeing 747 collided in German's airspace. The crash killed 69 people, mainly children, on board the Tu-154 and the Boeing's two pilots.

According to one version, the murdered Skyguide controller was to blame for the collision, as it took place in his zone of responsibility.
