    YUSHENKOV ASSASSINATION: CITY COURT TO DISCUSS VERDICT

    MOSCOW, March 18, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Hearings on the assassination of Sergei Yushenkov, prominent political activist and parliamentarian, are drawing to an end. The Moscow city court has appointed debates on today's verdict for Tuesday, March 23. The prosecution will address the court to mete out punishment to defendants the jury has found guilty. The court will appoint the day to announce the sentences after the debates.

    The verdict of "guilty" was pronounced on four of the six suspects. In particular, Mikhail Kodanev, co-chairman of the political party, Liberal Russia, was found guilty of masterminding the crime and contracting killers.
