The conference is being held on the initiative of and under the aegis of the International Oil Corporation of Georgia (GIOC), the British "ITE-Group" company, the Georgian oil and energy ministry and the agency of the state regulation of oil and gas resources.
The participants in the conference will discuss issues connected with the transportation and production of oil and gas, as well as energy problems. In addition, it is planned to consider the questions on the realisation of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum projects and the transit of Caspian energy products to the European market via the territory of Georgia.
The aim of the conference is to expand cooperation in this sphere, and establish business contacts with such countries as Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine.
Taking part in the work of the forum will be representatives of 15 countries. The first international conference on the oil, gas and energy problems was held in Georgia in 2002.
