ARKHANGELSK, March 17 (RIA Novosti) - In connection with a gas explosion in a residential building in Arkhangelsk (administrative center of the eponymous region in European Russia's north), city police are checking non-ferrous metals receiving centers, the Arkhangelsk region interior affairs department press service said Wednesday.

"As of now, some 50 non-ferrous metals receiving centers have been checked, but no parts stolen from the building's gas supply system have been discovered," said the source.

Over 60 people possibly involved in stealing metal plugs from the basement of a building in Sovetskikh Kosmonavtov Street have been questioned.

There are no specific suspects on this case yet, said the source.

An explosion occurred in building 120, Sovetskikh Kosmonavtov Street in Arkhangelsk on March 16. One of the sectors of the building collapsed. A gas explosion was probably the reason for the tragedy. 48 people died in the explosion.
