MOSCOW, March 17, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will not amend its foreign policy, Sergei Lavrov said at his first press conference as foreign minister on Wednesday.
"I do not think it is necessary," said Mr. Lavrov.
Events that often occur in the different directions of Russia's foreign policy do not fit into any one model, said Mr. Lavrov. The minister also said that Russia would work to ensure its national interests and avoid confrontation.
