TBILISI, March 16, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Adzharian Interior Minister Dzhemal Gogitidze says that the Georgian central authorities plan to eliminate one of the Adzharian opposition leaders with intent of provocation.
"Some people are interested in a murder of some opposition leader in order to deploy troops to Adzharia," Mr. Gogitidze told journalists in Batumi on Tuesday.
"I don't know the provocation details, however, I am aware of the masterminds and the victim," he said.
According to him, the Adzharian leadership plans no provocations.
