TALLINN, March 16, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Nikolai Adashkevich) -- On Tuesday Estonian President Arnold Ruutel congratulated Vladimir Putin on his victory in the March 14 presidential elections.
You have formed a basis for further reforms in the interests of Russia's society, its security and prosperity over the last four years, Mr. Ruutel said.
The Estonian President expressed hope that Russian-Estonian good-neighborliness and partnership will be developing and consolidating.
"Estonia's coming accession to the European Union and NATO opens new cooperation possibilities in different spheres. Estonia can contribute to the development of partnership between the European Union, NATO and Russia because we need joint efforts to counter global threats of the modern world," the Estonian President said.
