Since the air space above the territory of Adzharia was closed by the Georgian authorities Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov arrived in Adzharia via Turkey, the press service noted.

This evoked a sharp reaction of the Georgian leadership. The President of Georgia presented an ultimatum to the leadership of Adzharia demanding that his unhindered movement across the territory of Adzharia be ensured. Mr. Abashidze rejected the ultimatum. After that a partial blockade of Adzharia was introduced.
