DUSHANBE, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov has congratulated Vladimir Putin on his re-election, the Tajik president's press service reported.
"Your landslide victory at the elections testifies to your correct policy for the good of democratic Russia and the realisation of the country's vast potential in developing all spheres of society's life. You are known in Tajikistan for your commitment to the gradual development of partnership between our countries linked by historically friendly ties," runs Mr. Rakhmonov's congratulatory message.
The Tajik president expressed confidence that "the close versatile interaction between Tajikistan and Russia meeting our peoples' interests will be continued on the basis of equality, mutual respect and consideration of each other's national interests."
