PARIS, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Andrei Nizamutdinov) -- Russia is advancing by the road of democracy, French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin said on Monday answering a question by the RTL radio station about the results of the presidential elections in Russia.
"The road, which Russia covered in the past ten years, shows that much has been done," said the minister. He believes that "Europeans are responsible" for "accompanying Russians on this road." Mr. De Villepin also said that the key task is "to search for political solutions to crises," including in Chechnya.
