MOSCOW, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said that Vladimir Putin's victory in the presidential elections testifies to society's trust in him personally and in his program.

"Trust in the president was expressed, the president was elected, and he won confidently," Mr. Fradkov said at a meeting with Ministry of State Property Management personnel during the presentation of the new head of the ministry, Valery Nazarov.

"If translated into practical language, this means that society has serious expectations and it expressed its trust in the program and behavior of the individual who, to a considerable extent, determines the policy in the country for the next few years," Mr. Fradkov said.

He pointed out that the ideas voiced by the president are oriented to man. The president also causes the Government to work dynamically and responsibly.

"We must realize this because the president uses not only dry logical arguments but also tries to display the possibilities, which are may be hidden today, in departments, in executive power, and to compel the top officials to dynamically and responsibly work in the new capacity," Mr. Fradkov said.

He called upon the ministry staff to orient their work to attain results for society.
