TEL AVIV, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Sixty-seven percent of Russians voted for Vladimir Putin in Israel, said counsellor of the Russian embassy Andrei Demidov.
24.6% of voters supported Irina Khakamada, while the other candidates failed to cross the 1% margin.
On the whole, 11 polling stations were opened in Israel and Gaza, and 6,150 Russian citizens came to cast their votes.
According to Mr. Demidov, the elections were held in an organized way, with no wrongdoing or complaints from voters.
