PUTIN GAINS OVER 71% VOTES

MOSCOW, March 15 (RIA Novosti) - The Central Election Commission is to process the remaining 1.9% of the ballot papers, said CEC representative Vladimir Lysenko.

In his words, the winner of the Russian presidential elections, Vladimir Putin gained 71.2 percent of the votes. Over 48 million people voted for him.

Nikolai Kharitonov took second place with 13.8% (9,320,000 votes), Sergei Glazyev, 4.1% (2,779,000 votes).

Irina Khakamada received 3.8% (2,592,000 votes), Oleg Malyshkin, 2% (1,376,000 votes), and Sergei Mironov, 0.8% (507,000 votes).

3.5 percent of the electorate voted against all.
