MOSCOW, MARCH 14, 2004 RIA NOVOSTI - Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov is quite positive about the new Cabinet appointees, as he considers most of them to be competent professionals. Speaking to reporters Sunday, Mr. Kasyanov described as "a very good compromise" the decision to make Mikhail Fradkov his successor. He also said he welcomed the appointment of Alexander Zhukov First Vice Premier and that he was pleased to see Yuri Trutnev, until now a regional governor, as the new Minister of Natural Resources. Kasyanov also hailed the appointment of Sergei Lavrov, former Russian Ambassador to the UN, as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
