MOSCOW, March 14 (RIA Novosti). Adzharia's leader Aslan Abashidze is sure he will return to Adzharia, an autonomous republic in Georgia, this evening. "I will be home not very late, soon after this press conference is over," he told journalists. "One can fly to Batumi in a variety of ways," he added without saying exactly how he planned to do it.
He confirmed the news that the Georgian authorities are preventing him from returning to Georgia. "The airports, including in Tbilisi, are closed," he said. According to Abashidze, he had sent a letter to Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvili, in which he expressed the hope for the settlement of crisis in Batumi-Tbilisi relations. "I am not sure the result will be positive," admitted the Adzharian leader.
