TSENTOROI, Chechen Republic, March 14 (RIA Novosti). President Akhmad Kadyrov of Chechnya has repeated that the so-called defence minister of Ichkeria Magomed Khambiyev had surrendered of his own free will. "Acting at the request of his relatives and elders, he had surrendered weapons and I am grateful to him for this," Kadyrov told journalists after casting his ballot in the presidential elections.
In his words, Khambiyev has been issued a Russian passport and will take part in the Sunday elections. Kadyrov also said terrorists have no nationality. Commenting on the recent series of explosions in Spain, which claimed over 200 lives, the Chechen President said: "What happened in Madrid is a tragedy that claimed innocent lives. It is the trace which terrorists and bandits leave."
