    INTERIOR MINISTRY: NO MAJOR VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW

    MOSCOW, March 14 (RIA Novosti). Russia's Interior Ministry has not registered major violations of the law during the presidential elections, Deputy Interior Minister Sergei Shchadrin, head of the ministry's public safety department, reported in the CEC Information Centre.

    According to him, all electoral districts are working normally and have not registered major violations. Shchadrin said the main task of the ministry at the elections is "to ensure public safety during preparations for voting." In his words, a slide in crime and other breaches of law are registered during the presidential elections. He said the law enforcement staff (about 300,000) are working around the clock.
