MOSCOW, MARCH 12, RIA NOVOSTI - Presidential hopefuls Irina Hakamada, Sergei Glazyev and Nikolai Kharitonov intend to arrange an independent parallel vote count in Sunday's federal presidential poll. They are starting a joint HQ, too.

"A fine initiative! They've lent us an attentive ear, at last," said Alexander Veshnyakov, Central Election Commission president, as newsmen asked him for comments.

"Now we really have every chance for genuine and efficient public monitoring of the poll and vote count. We are willing to join hands, and we welcome all political forces who care about the destinies of Russian democracy," he remarked eagerly.
