The vote took place in Youssefiyah, a village 30 kilometers south of Baghdad, where the construction workers are building a thermal electric power plant.
Nikolai Strakhov, the deputy chairman of the visiting election committee, told RIA Novosti that 143 people voted. The construction workers did not go to Baghdad because of security concerns.
Russian citizens in Baghdad are voting as well.
On Friday polling stations for Russian citizens to vote in the presidential elections opened in a number of Arab countries, because Friday is not a working day in these countries and Sunday is.
According to the data of the Russian Foreign Ministry, 1.3 million Russian citizens abroad will be able to vote for president at polling stations in 140 countries.
