MOSCOW, March 10, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov does not rule out that privatization issues may pass under control of the prime minister.

"It's evident that there are some issues, in particular, connected with privatization, that might claim being dealt with by the government chairman," Mr. Fradkov told a press conference.

"For me it's clear that all privatization processes are going on in accordance with the plans, and they will be carried out insistently, but they must be subordinated to the concept of enhancing the competitiveness of privatized enterprises," the premier emphasized.

"There are a lot of levers for it," he added.
