LONDON, March 10, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Smotrov) - London is hoping for further successful co-operation with Russia's new government, the British foreign office told RIA Novosti.

"We had expected the appointment of a new Cabinet following the dismissal of Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and the previous Cabinet on February 24.

We look forward to working with the new government team, including the Ministers from the previous Cabinet with whom we enjoyed good relations.

We welcome the appointment of Sergei Lavrov, with whom we have worked closely during his last job as the Russian Ambassador to the UN," added the press service of the British Foreign Office.
