Yesterday Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order liquidating 13 ministries, including the Atomic Energy Ministry.
"Former Atomic Energy Minister Alexander Rumyantsev will probably head the Agency. However, this is not certain yet," RIA Novosti's interlocutor said.
The new federal agency will be partly subordinate to the Defense Ministry and partly to the Industry and Energy Ministry headed by Viktor Khristenko.
The source gave no information on the staff of the federal agency.
