MOSCOW, MARCH 9. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- The Russian Security Service (FSB) warns of the emergence of a "circular letter" forgery in Internet allegedly prepared as a guideline for the security organs on eve of the presidential elections in Russia, the FSB public relations centre has said.

"On March 9 a copy of a 'circular letter' No I-429 of March 1, 2004 has been posted on some Internet sites. It has allegedly been prepared by Russia's FSB 'to give a guideline to the territorial security organs on terrorist acts in preparation at polling stations", the public relations centre's spokesman said.

This document is a forgery, he said.

"The public relations centre views it as a manifestation of 'dirty' election technologies designed to fan up panic among voters and wreck the election of the president of the Russian Federation", the centre said.

The FSB preserves the right to conduct an investigation on facts of such falsities and take their authors to account according to the procedure provided for in Russian legislation, the FSB public relations centre said.
